NAPKON TIP - National Pandemic Cohort Network - Therapeutic Intervention Platform
Department of Medical Statistics
The focus of NAPKON-TIP (coordinated by the University Hospital Frankfurt, University Hospital Köln) is the establishment of an infrastructure for future adaptive clinical platform studies in Germany, based on the recruiting network successfully established in the National Pandemic Cohort Network (NAPKON) and the NUM infrastructure NUKLEUS.
Adaptive platform studies are recognised as practical and efficient solutions for generating clinical-scientific findings, especially in the face of a constantly changing evidence base during a dynamic pandemic, as they allow the components (e.g. the integration of new therapies, drugs or additional population groups) to be adapted during a clinical trial.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the Network of University Medicine (NUM).
